Alberta Pharmacists given prescribing powers campaigns
A one-two news release punch produced more than $100,000 in media coverage in March/April 2007 when Alberta pharmacists were given the legal authority to prescribe medication on April 1, 2007. RxA was positioned front-and-centre in multiple media reports by Global National, Global TV Edmonton, CTV Edmonton, CTV Calgary, CBC Radio Calgary, Citytv, CHQR, National Post, Edmonton Journal, and Calgary Herald.
RxA challenges the Alberta Medical Association campaign
A summer 2006 proactive media relations strategy designed to challenge criticism and opposition from the Alberta Medical Association (AMA) and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) about Alberta pharmacists receiving prescribing authority resulted in unprecedented earned media coverage, including a front-page, top-of-fold story in the Calgary Herald, and coverage in the Calgary Sun, QR77, Globe and Mail, CBC Wild Rose Forum, 940 Montreal, and CKNW’s Bill Good Show.

Member publications, annual report, sponsorship deal
Calico Communications redesigned and re-launched two member publications, RxPress and The Capsule, resulting in increased readership and positive feedback from members and stakeholders. Calico also produced an annual report which received high praise from members, and cultivated a sponsorship deal with a stakeholder organization to fund RxA's first ever member opinion survey.
